Kay's Kids Goes Crazy For Cotton at International Kids Fashion Show; Launches Spring/Summer '98 Line for Girls

Designer Rachel Kathryn Incorporates Bright, Colorful Cotton Fabrics to Create New Line of Stylish and Fresh Coordinated Separates in Sizes 7-14

New York, October 19, 1997 - Kay's Kids has gone cotton crazy here at the International Kids Fashion Show, offering its new line of spring/summer fashions for girls sizes 7-14. Designed by Fashion Institute of Technology graduate Rachel Kathryn, the new line features coordinated jumpers, dresses, skirts, shirts, T-shirts, shorts and vests utilizing a wide variety of cotton knits and wovens that are sure to offer a refreshing combination of style and comfort. With each piece ranging in price from $8 to $16 wholesale, the spring/summer line is targeted at moderate level markets.

"The light cotton fabrics I've used for this new line are perfect for the warmer months," said Kathryn. "The colors and patterns are bright and refreshing, and the styles are comfortable, yet sophisticated. As always, many of the separates can be mixed and matched to create several different outfits."

Fabrics, Colors and Styles

The new spring/summer line from Kay's Kids can be divided into two categories: knits and wovens. The cotton knits -- of varying textures -- come in either solids, stripes or geometric shapes, while the cotton wovens feature floral prints, solids and gingham. Some outfits also offer distinctive button accents such as flowers or cups and saucer. Not only are the pieces stylish, but also functional. For example, a wrap skirt can be added to a matching jumper to create two outfits.

"Kids will love to wear these outfits because they are so comfortable and fun," said Kathryn. "Parents will be attracted to the sophisticated, yet functional styles."
