New York, March 15, 1998 - Kay's Kids has not only launched its fall 1998 fashion collection for girls sizes 7-14 here at the International Kids Fashion Show, but also announced its new relationship with veteran children's fashion representative Sam Benjamin. Mr. Bengamin, with offices at the Bayside Marchandise Mart in Boston, will represent Kay's Kids in New England.
The Fall '98 Line
Designed by Fashion Institute of Technology graduate Rachel Kathryn, the fall '98 line features coordinated pants, vests, sweaters, dresses, jumpers, tunics and leggings. To match the energy and enthusiasm of today's youth, a number of exciting back-to-school themes emerge from the cranberry, blueberry, chestnut and mint green colors and striped knit, chenille, denim and cotton sateen fabrics selected by
Kathryn. Following are descriptions of a few of the nearly three dozen pieces in the line:
- Skirts, vests, tunics, pants and turtleneck tops make up coordinated outfits in cranberry or chestnut striped and solid velour.
- A mitered stripe half-circle skirt, leggings and stripe pants can be matched with a vest, tunic, adn turtle neck shirt. To complete the ensemble there is an asymmetrical dress in striped and solid fabric.
- A mint green and white mitered stripe mandarin collar dress has three buttons in front; as well as a short, mint green A-line skirt.
- A mint green and white window pane fabric jumper worn with mint green and white mitered stripe shirt.
- Two velour jumpsuits, one in cranberry stripe and solid fabric and the other in chestnut stripe and solid fabric.
- Two pair of slacks and a long A-line skirt in narrow waffle stripe knit fabric in orange/brown/camel and aqua/plum/peach have a side panel insert of contrasting color. Coordinating shirts and turtlenecks complete the outfits.
- A jumper dress in red and white stripe knit with satin trim and a red satin jewel neck shirt.
- A-line skirts and short and long jackets with collars and cuffs in reversible daisy print in aqua and green and lavender and blue, have shirts that match in solid aqua and lavender.
